Zeiss CZ.2 70-200/T2.9 F- metric
The Compact Zoom CZ.2 70-200/T2.9 is first in a line of zoom lenses designed for the owner-operator from Carl Zeiss that allows them to be used with a wide variety of current and future cameras. The new Compact Zoom CZ.2 is as versatile as it is powerful and incorporates features never before seen on a lens of this kind. With its zoom length of 70–200 mm, it gives you a wide range of creative options. And thanks to its robust, cine-style housing (which also allows for the use of a follow-focus system), its full-frame coverage and interchangeable mounts, it will be a reliable partner for years to come. The Compact Zoom CZ.2 70-200mm T/2.9 comprises all the features of a cine-style lens. Extra-long focus throw, constant T-stop of 2.9 across the entire zoom range and easy-to-read markings. But the main difference to a regular photo zoom lens is a phenomenon called “focus shift”. When zooming in on an object with a photo zoom lens you always have to adjust focus. As soon as you change the image frame the position of the sharp plane of focus changes as well. In still photography this is not a problem. But in motion picture it is a big issue because your details might be out of focus. Your scene is ruined. A highly precise mechanical adjusting concept is used to compensate this negative effect with the Compact Zoom CZ.2 70-200mm T/2.9. The goal is to stabilize the image position while zooming. Three independent lens movements are necessary to achieve this. You have a sharp crisp image without refocusing.
