This is the first camera offered by NewTek: the NDI PTZ camera (or Network Device Interface Pan/Tilt/Zoom camera) was designed to be integrated into and accessed by your network.
Being touted as a “faster, easier, and better way to acquire live video,” the NDI PTZ Camera comes with a bevy of impressive features: a multi-cast mode, 1080 60p native, power over Ethernet, and (of course) full pan/tilt/zoom control from the network.
With multicast mode, you can opt to allow multiple network destinations to receive video from the camera without point-to-point connections. This makes for a much lighter production footprint by reducing cabling complexity. Moreover considering that the cameras can be powered over Ethernet. However, the NewTek NDI PTZ camera does also have 3G-SDI and HDMI output for more traditional workflow.
Using your TriCaster (or similar device), control the camera’s pan, tilt, and zoom movements from your computer or control surface. Set preset positions and quickly assign cameras to video inputs.
