The Metabones T Speed Booster XL 0.64x Adapter for Full-Frame Canon EF mount lenses to Micro Four-Thirds mount cameras is the latest in the EF-m43 speed booster line (version 3). This adapter’s optics provide 0.64x Micro 4/3 crop factor compensation — meaning it provides a 1.3 stop increase for the camera over the lens’s natural aperture range.
“Full Frame” camera users, particularly those with a micro four-thirds size sensor, are familiar with the problem of image cropping when using adapters: full-frame lenses typically project an image larger than the m4/3 sensor is built to accept. The T Speed Booster XL 0.64x Adapter for Full-Frame Canon EF-Mount Lens to Select Micro Four Thirds-Mount Cameras condenses the light from a lens designed for 35mm film or "full frame" camera sensors and projects it onto a Micro Four Thirds sensor. This allows a Micro Four Thirds sensor to utilize more of the light gathered by a connected lens, which effectively reduces the crop factor while making available to the sensor an additional 1.3 stops of light for each of the lens's f/stop settings.
In select cameras, the Metabones SPEF-m43-BT2 supports in-camera aperture control, autofocus, and image stabilization. Moreover, in a lens capable of generating EXIF metadata this adapter facilitates that flow of information.

The Metabones T Speed Booster XL0.64x EF to M4/3 adapter features an integrated jog dial for incremental aperture adjustment. In compatible Panasonic cameras, the adapter gives push-button access to the lens’s widest aperture setting. It’s built with six lens elements in four groups and can be powered either by the camera body or bay a third-party external 5V power source (not included). The Speed Booster XL also sports a detachable tripod foot with 3/8″ threads.
