The Canon 6D Mark II is a Full-frame DSLR with a 26.2 Megapixel CMOS sensor. Compared to the original 6D’s 20.2MP resolution, the 6D Mark II is a cut above — especially as it’s paired with a DIGIC 7 Image Processor.
Full-Frame CMOS Sensor. The 6D Mark II is built with a 26.2 Megapixel CMOS sensor. With an improved ISO range of 100 - 4000 (up from 25600 in the Mark I), this camera’s sensor captures images of 6240x4160 pixels with a pixel size of 5.67 µm2.
Dual Pixel CMOS AF. The 6D Mark II features 45 cross-type AF points (depending on the lens used) and dual pixel CMOS AF on the sensor provides phase-detection autofocus during Full HD recording at 60p. The 6DMII also has 5 types of AF area selection modes. Moreover, you can do high-speed continuous shooting at up to 6.5fps.
Optical Viewfinder & Fully Articulating EVF Screen. Like all DSLRs, the Canon 6D Mark II sports an optical viewfinder. However, it also sports a fully articulating 3″ Touch Screen LCD for Live View and menu navigation. The 1.04 million dot LCD monitor is constructed to help minimize reflections and treated with a smudge-resistant coating for a bright, clear and easily viewable display.
Compact & Lightweight. The EOS 6D Mark II camera is built for uninterrupted performance, even when conditions get messy. The battery compartment cover, card slot cover, lens mount, terminal covers and buttons are weather-sealed to help keep water and dust out. The EOS 6D Mark II’s high precision aluminum alloy and polycarbonate resin construction ensures a lightweight and durable camera that gives you the confidence to use in various situations.

6D Mark II or 5D Mark IV? The Canon 6D Mark II makes numerous improvements over its first iteration, and shooting full-frame in Full HD makes this camera well-worth the price. However, if you need 4K capability, then the Canon 5D Mark IV is a better option. Another notable difference between the two is that the 6DMII has one card slot to the 5DMIV’s two.
